When not in the classroom, Julia continues to hone her communication skills, whether she is acting, telling stories, writing scripts, or working as an audio describer (AD). As an AD, Julia primarily describes shows for the blind and visually impaired patrons at Tennessee Performing Arts Center, but she has also described such things as ballet, opera, and a fashion show; she’s even described a solar eclipse, for which she won national recognition. If she’s not working or performing, Julia spends her time bargain shopping, crossing items off her “Julia Do” list, and watching TV with her furbabies.
