Janet Lee

Author/Illustrator

Janet K Lee is an award-winning illustrator and author. She made her first foray into illustration in 2010 by co-creating Return of the Dapper Men which won an Eisner Award. Lee has worked for Marvel, Vertigo, Image, BOOM, IDW, Viking Press, MacMillan Publishing and many others. Her works include two sequential adaptations of Jane Austen works, a comic about a casino-heist in outer space, and sequential re-imaginings of two of Frank Baum’s non-Wizard-of-OZ books.

A self-taught artist, Janet Lee grew up in Nashville, earning a BA in Literature from Vanderbilt University. She spent nearly two decades working in book publishing. Along the way, Janet decided to renew her childhood passion for art, which happily lead to her second career in illustration.

Janet still lives in Nashville, with her writer-husband, student-son, a sweet dog, and four very bad cats.
