PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO FOR SOCIALS

This course prepares students to create strategic, story-driven photography and videography content for today’s social media platforms. Working in collaborative production teams, students explore audience analysis, brand storytelling, short-form video, visual narrative development, content planning, and platform-specific strategies for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

Through a semester-long partnership with a local non-profit organization, students gain hands-on experience working with real clients to develop content strategies and produce professional photography and video that increase awareness, engage communities, recruit volunteers, and support fundraising efforts. By the end of the course, students will have completed a professional social media campaign for a real client, demonstrating their ability to manage the complete creative process from client discovery and strategic planning through production, post-production, presentation, and campaign evaluation.

This course is offered on ground with an online component.
