Week 11 focuses on how we utilize consumer input when it comes to formatting, autocompletion, forms and error messages. Taking this input allows designers to integrate UX design to the UI thinking.

This week, we will explore qualitative versus quantitative data to improve customer relations. In UI, user actions will be detailed as well as high fidelity prototyping. Based on this data, theories related to that data will be discussed. We will evaluate things like hover tools, smart menus and various button groups.

This week, learn about generating and collecting data for UX design. In comparison, learn about color theory and how color plays a role in understanding complex problems through data visualization.

This week, students will learn about the fundamental concepts for evaluation and varying types of evaluation data. After discussing evaluation, students will learn how to enhance their design with typography and basic typography theory. The entirety of this week will be spent working on completing a cumulative project that not only leverages everything learned to date in the User Interface courses but the User Experience Design courses as well. The project will be set within real-world constraints, with the intent of better preparing students for considerations which may arise

This week will detail the depth and breadth of prototypes and how to utilize all resources for the best options. Once students begin to understand prototyping, the next step is learning to develop the page by establishing a visual framework. Learn about responsive, adaptive and liquid layouts.

This week will be a balance of understanding goal-setting and user experience measures while understanding the theory of navigation and common design conventions.

We will continue to build on design thinking and expand into areas like Intermediate Design, Wireframes and Interaction Design Specifications. Once you learn about why and how to design, we will then focus on organizing that content on the page using modern design tools. The theory behind User Interface design will be discussed.

This week is about articulating the process of design thinking including storyboarding. Students will also learn about Sketch, a prototyping app for modern designers.
