The longest-running digital media event in Nashville has a new vision and a new voice for 2015. Previously known as PodCamp Nashville, the Mid-South’s premier “unconference” for digital content creators has rebranded as Craft Content Nashville in 2015. The eighth annual event will be held under its new name on Saturday, April 11, at Nossi College of Art. This is the second year Nossi will be hosting this event.

“This ‘unconference’ brings together creative and business professionals to share ideas, tips and technologies impacting the digital world.”said Libby Funke Luff, Director of Marketing and Student Activities at Nossi. “We are thrilled we have the space conducive specifically for digital marketers.”

The first PodCamp Nashville was held in 2008 as a forum for the best and brightest bloggers, marketers, educators and podcasters to gather, network and share the latest trends and technologies in the interactive space. Craft Content was created in 2015 with a mission to engage a wider variety of innovators across the rapidly growing and changing digital content landscape, including social media, video production, photography, graphic design, web development and user experience.

“The PodCamp brand has deep roots here in the Nashville community, but its roots also have strong ties to more mainstream content ideas like blogging, marketing, and podcasting. Digital content creation is now a form of art and expression that spans a wide variety of established and emerging media, and the Craft Content brand aims to better reflect the intersection and collaboration between all of those unique and diverse creative professions,” said Keith Cawley, the Craft Content 2015 chair.

Craft Content Nashville will retain many of PodCamp’s traditional ‘unconference” characteristics, but with a few twists. The unique day-long, free event will again invite attendees to generate content and lead discussions. However, the inaugural Craft Content will feature the event’s first keynote speaker in entrepreneur and best-selling author John Michael Morgan. It will also debut a series of paired intro and advanced sessions for blogging, social media, SEO and podcasting that will be led by established industry professionals.

“We started the Nashville chapter of PodCamp with the intent of bringing together like-minded content creators and to celebrate and learn from one another,” said Dave Delaney, who helped organize the first PodCamp Nashville in 2008. “It’s time for PodCamp to mature and evolve into something bigger and better. Taylor Swift, Garth Brooks and Jack White better watch out.”

This will be the second consecutive year that the event will be held at Nossi College of Art, a private, professional college that focuses on pushing the boundaries of visual communication. The 40-year-old Nashville school moved into its new 55,000-square foot facility in September 2010.

Event registration and speaker submission are now open. More information on Craft Content Nashville 2015 is available at CraftContentNashville.org. The event is also present on social media via Twitter and Facebook.
