Former Congressman to Speak at Graduation

Nossi College of Art will graduate 65 dedicated, professional artists in the W.F. Ruhl Fine Arts Auditorium at Goodpasture Christian High School on June 7 at 1 p.m. Nossi College is celebrating its 41st anniversary this year.

Former U.S. Congressman and current President of Clement and Associates, a PR firm with locations in Washington D.C. as well as Nashville, will be the commencement speaker. Clement was born and raised in Nashville.

“We are extremely honored and proud to announce that our former U.S. Congressman, Bob Clement, will be our 2014 Commencement Speaker,” said Dr. Byron Edwards, Vice President of Academic Affairs. “Throughout his career, including his current role as President of a public affairs firm, Mr. Clement has served in a variety of positions. The process of his experiences and the lessons he learned will be of great interest to our graduates.”

Nossi will honor students graduating with associate and bachelor’s degrees in photography, Video and Film, interactive graphic design and illustration. Each student graduates with an emphasis in the professional, commercial arts. Honor students, Alpha Beta Kappa students and Kappa Pi students will also be recognized at this event.

Nossi graduates find careers in various Nashville businesses as well as companies all over the country. Last year, 95% of graduates were placed into careers with help from our Career Services Director, Dax Gomez.

In 2013, Nossi College of Art celebrated a 40-year anniversary of teaching creative students. The Nossi curriculum encompasses experience in addition to course work by allowing students to get immersed in the Nashville community. Students are partnered with local businesses, events and non-profits to gain insight into the real world before graduation.  This All Access gives students the opportunity to work with companies while in school to get the knowledge they need to attain employment after graduation.
