Fall Classes Commence, Congrats to our Scholarship Winners!

The fall semester began, welcoming over a hundred new students to campus to work on their creative careers. Nossi College of Art honors a variety of scholarships to students who demonstrate both academic and creative excellence. This year 20 students were awarded over $88,000 in two scholarships, the Mahtaban and Presidential Scholarships.

The Mahtaban Scholarship focuses on the areas of graphic design and illustration and was named in honor of founder Nossi Vatandoost’s mother. Scholarship recipient Stephanie Young said, “I greatly appreciate the time and effort everyone took to carefully read through each applicant’s essay and found something special in mine.”

Achievement of this award demonstrates the student has shown an exceptional ability in art to their high school art instructor and/or counselor, as well as a promising future as a professional, commercial artist.

The Presidential Scholarship shows specifically that the student has developed an outstanding eye for photography or videography during high school. The selection process for both scholarships is rigorous, as students must provide an in-depth portfolio of their work, write a one-page essay and obtain a supporting letter of recommendation.

Presidential recipient Cody Perry said, “This is an honor to win an award based on my portfolio of videos. Being able to build on this interest of mine is very exciting.”

We want to congratulate this year’s winners, as they begin their exciting education here at Nossi College of Art:
