Britton Watson has been in advertising and marketing for over 30 years. She cut her teeth working at ad agencies in Atlanta, and her clients included many recognized brands including BellSouth, The Home Depot, Turner Broadcasting, Marriott and UPS. In the mid-90s Britton moved to Nashville and worked for Dye Van Mol, now known as DVL Seigenthaler Finn. In 1999, she ventured into the world of entrepreneurship and opened Blue Olive, an award-winning strategic marketing consultancy, which provides cohesive and concise strategic and business plans based on client goals.
As the owner of Blue Olive, Britton wears many hats, but the one she most enjoys is Strategist. As such she writes and implements strategic plans and oversees budgets of all sizes. Her plans provide marketing insight and measurable impact, along with distinctive and relevant messages and ideas. After a plan is approved, Britton oversees implementation of branding, creative and design services, website development, and media buying and she negotiates daily with third-party suppliers and marketing partners as she is entrusted by her clients to advise, guide and grow their businesses.
When Britton isn’t happily wrapped in an excel spreadsheet or researching data in the late night hours, she enjoys playing tennis, or cards, or Maj Jongg as she has quite a competitive nature. She likes music, mostly country, and she and her family enjoy singing. In fact, they have a professional karaoke system set-up in their basement – videotaping for YouTube is not allowed. Though she is not known for her cooking skills, her children and their friends claim her turkey sliders, brownies and chess pie are some of the best.
