school

Nossi College of Art’s bachelor’s degree in Photography and Video and Film offers students the skills and opportunity to take on any of these career interests. Classes give students a thorough understanding of photo and video needs in the “real world.” There are also numerous opportunities to work as photographers and videographers around Nashville. By graduation, our BGA students leave with the skills and the experience needed to succeed in this competitive industry.

“Nossi College of Art offers you the opportunity to increase your work options while allowing you to meet others and be rejuvenated by a creative community,” Chilberg said.

BGA students take courses in cinematic techniques, screenwriting, producing and directing, news and special events Video and Film, commercial advertising, photojournalism, model fashion photography, sports photography, online marketing, music video production and many others.

“The best part of Nossi College of Art is getting into an environment with other artists, both students and professors,” said Hans Chilberg, Senior Faculty Member of Nossi’s video program. “Bouncing ideas for feedback; finding creative teammates or discussion partners and growing in your interpersonal creative skills is always important, especially in film and video.”

Working with a supportive group of creatives at school is just one of the perks of Nossi’s photography and Video and Film degree. Students are offered opportunities through the year to serve as photographers and videographers for Nashville businesses and events. View our album online. In 2013, photo/video students have shot professionally for CMA Fest, The Vinny Pro-Invitational Celebrity Golf Tournament, Nashville Dancin’, Musicians Corner, Swan Ball, Nashville Fashion Week, Vanderbilt basketball games and other sports, fashion, music and entertainment events around Nashville.

Nossi College of Art’s BGA in photography and Video and Film can be completed traditionally in three and a half years for new students or even less for students transferring with an associate degree in photography or closely related program. With many of our bachelor students getting involved in events and real industry opportunities around Nashville, our graduates leave with a comprehensive portfolio and a plethora of experience.

“One of the perks of the bachelors degree in photography and Video and Film is that the addition of Video and Film to the degree can strengthen an artist’s range, voice and eye to have the ability to produce video, not to mention one’s wallet,” Chilberg said. “Being able to create commercials, documentaries, how-to’s and narrative film/video can open you up to more (possibilities).”

As with any college education, price can be a barrier when it comes to deciding where and how far you want to take your education. Because of this, Nossi College of Art offers several opportunities to make it financially easier to return to class. Scholarships, including the Alumni Scholarship, can be awarded so alumni and their families can return to school. With our Together Program, alumni can retake a class that they’ve already passed, for no charge – some rules apply.

Enrolling for a BGA in photography and Video and Film can open doors for new and alumni students.
