Nossi College of Art Recognizes Top Students for Fall Semester

Gathering in the hallway to hear the nominees and winners of Nossi’s Fall Semester Awards, students brought friends and family to share in this special time. Each semester, Nossi College ends its semester with a Senior Portfolio Show and Award Ceremony. All graduating seniors are asked to present their portfolios during the Senior Show, and the entire college is invited to attend.

In addition to friends and family members, this event is designed to draw creative professionals to the College to support students and their creative futures. Everyone get to visit with the students and view the hard work accomplished by graduating seniors while professionals get a sample of the talent level that will be entering Nashville’s creative and entertainment industries.

“My favorite part of the senior and award show is looking at our students’ final work and talking with them about how much they have learned and changed over the years,” said Cyrus Vatandoost, executive Vice President at Nossi College of Art.

“It is important that students show support for each other,” said Libby Funke-Luff, Student Activities and Communications Coordinator. “Not only is it a chance for seniors to help mentor underclassmen, but its also a chance for underclassmen to get a glimpse at their end goal – graduation!”

During the senior show, we announce our semester award winners in the following categories: Most Creative, Most Class Participation, Most Improved, Ambassador and Talent Discovery. To be considered for these awards, adjunct faculty members at Nossi nominate students that appropriately fit each category. We recently created a new category called Academic Allstar to highlight students with the highest GPA in each program. Nossi wants to reward students who maintain an impressive GPA throughout their college career.

“When students are working hard in class, when they are exceeding above expectations, they will be quickly noticed and nominated for these awards,” said Vatandoost.

The following are the winners for our fall 2013 semester awards:
