It is the end of the workday, and I am heading to Aladdin’s on Elliston to meet with Michael Inman, a Nossi College of Art graduate…
Financial Aid
The economic realities of the 21st century include the fact that, no matter which college or university you attend, it is going to be expensive. Nossi College of Art prides itself on being able to keep tuition and college expenses down to a minimum level. One of the outstanding economic things that Nossi College of Art does is guarantee its tuition. This means that once a student is enrolled in a program at Nossi College of Art, that student’s tuition will not increase from the beginning of their program right through to graduation.
But still, most students need some financial aid assistance with their college career. Nossi College of Art is approved to offer several programs through which students may apply for financial aid. These programs include Federal Pell Grants, Direct Loan Programs, Social Security and United States Department of Veterans Affairs programs, Tennessee Student Assistance Awards, and Federal Direct (Parents) PLUS Loans. The college maintains a financial aid office to assist students in applying for aid for which they may qualify. Complete details about qualifications may be obtained through that office. In addition, Nossi College of Art offers several art and photography scholarships.
To apply for federal and state aid, you must complete the FAFSA Application. You may apply online using FAFSA on the Web at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. If you do not have Internet access or have questions, you may call our financial aid department at 1-888-986-2787(ARTS).
Through the Direct Loan Program, students and parents will borrow their Federal Stafford and PLUS loans directly from the federal government and will no longer be borrowing their loan funds through private lenders.
You will need to sign a new Master Promissory Note (MPN) and do a new entrance interview for any Stafford or PLUS loan you expect to borrow for the coming award year. This will be done at www.studentloans.gov.
Scholarships
Nossi College of Art Merit Scholarship Award
Part of the philosophy of Nossi College of Art is that no creative person should, for financial reasons, be left behind in the pursuit of a college degree. Therefore, all recipients of the Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarship (TELS), also known as Tennessee Hope Scholarship, may participate in the Nossi College of Art Merit Scholarship Award.
1) Be enrolled in either the AOS degree or the BGA degree program.
2) Present your art portfolio to a college official, if applicable.
3) Show proof of high school graduation.
4) Meet with the financial aid director to request the Merit Scholarship.
Upon acceptance, the student will receive notification of the Merit Scholarship.
Subsequent awarding of the scholarship will be based on the TELS regulation as prepared and published by the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation and the Nossi College of Art Merit Scholarship Rules and Regulations Policy.
Students must enroll directly from high school, and they must have demonstrated to their high school art instructor and counselor an exceptional ability in art. Students who have been out of school for more than one year or have previously attended another postsecondary institution may not apply.
