Successful Placement Record

Nossi College of Art has achieved and consistently maintained a successful placement record in all programs. The goal of the Career Services Office is to assist students in finding entry-level employment in their chosen fields.  Though placement is important, it is not a guaranteed. Each student is expected to take an active role in his or her search for employment.

Portfolio/Resume/Career Preparation Course

Each student is required to successfully complete this 15-week program in which they prepare their self-promotional materials, learn job hunting techniques, develop interview skills and complete their portfolios.

Career Services Director

For over five years, Nossi College of Art has had a full-time career services director, Sharon McGinnis. She has a background in human resources and possesses certification in her field as a Senior Human Resource Professional (SPHR). Ms. McGinnis is currently serving on the American Advertising Federation-Nashville Board of Directors and co-chairs their Education Committee. She has in-depth experience in job search skills and a professional employment perspective beneficial to her role assisting both companies and graduates.

Job Leads

Job leads in graduates’ fields of study are communicated on a regular basis to those seeking employment.

Portfolio Review

The Portfolio Review event is held prior to the completion of the graduate’s program. Employers attend, offer valuable advice and use the event to recruit or screen potential employees.

Alumni Network

Graduates are encouraged to keep in touch and to network with each other regarding job opportunities as well as other social and career-related events. Many graduates go on to be employers of Nossi graduates themselves.
